Fire Safety

The Level 2 Award in Managing Fire Safety is a qualification aimed at anyone involved in the management of fire safety in any workplace. This includes managers, supervisors, team leaders, fire wardens (marshals) and staff working in any area where there is a potential risk of fire.

This unit is described in the aims as being for ‘employees and fire wardens’. It is particularly pertinent for those who have specific responsibilities for fire safety but would increase fire safety awareness and skills for other employees.

The aim of this unit is to provide candidates with sufficiently detailed fire safety knowledge to undertake specific fire safety roles in the workplace to assist their employer in managing fire risk.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace
  • Understand how fire risk is controlled in the workplace
  • Understand the principles and practice of fire safety management at work
  • Understand the role of the nominated fire warden

The guided learning hours for this qualification are 6 hours depending on the mode of study and training needs of candidates, assessment is multiple choice.
